ISLAMABAD: Consumer inflation eased to 10.3 per cent in September from 11.1pc a month earlier, mainly due to a sharp slowdown in food inflation, the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics said on Thursday. The slight deceleration in the inflation rate, measured by the Consumer Price Index, reversed the sharp increase recorded in August, when higher food and energy prices pushed the annual rate to 11.1pc from 9.2pc in July. The easing was more pronounced in rural areas, where inflation fell to 10.5pc from 12.2pc, while urban inflation edged down to 10.1pc from 10.4pc. The September reading was also…
