NCCIA special units set up to curb fake news

ISLAMABAD: Special units have been established to prevent “anti-state propaganda and fake news”, while cyber patrolling units have been made functional in all regions for monitoring of cyberspace, the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA)said on Sunday. According to a spokesman for the agency, the measures were reviewed during a five-day tour of all circles in Punjab by Director General Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, who also inspected reporting centres, police stations and offices and held direct meetings with more than 500 complainants.
