UK threatens to expel 27 Israeli diplomats over Jerusalem consulate closure: Report The UK warned Israel that it will expel 27 Israeli diplomats from the Israeli embassy in London unless Tel Aviv's decision to close the British Consulate General in East Jerusalem is reversed, Ynet reported. Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar announced the decision to close the consulate last month in retaliation against the British move to ban trade with Israeli settlements. The consulate's closure and revoking of diplomatic credentials of its staff is set to take effect on Thursday.
