Last ruler of Khairpur State passes away

SUKKUR: Mir Ali Murad Khan Talpur, the last ruler of the former princely state of Khairpur, passed away here on Monday. He was 93. He has left behind two sons and a daughter. The funeral prayers will be offered at Kot Diji on Tuesday (today) at 11am. The late Talpur played a significant role in the history of Khairpur State during the transition following the creation of Pakistan. After Pakistan came into being, he placed his trust in Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and signed an instrument of accession of Khairpur State to Pakistan.
