Israeli shelling kills retired Lebanese soldier The Israeli army on Sunday killed a retired Lebanese soldier by artillery shelling as he tended to his land during the annual olive harvest in southern Lebanon. The Lebanese army identified him as Ali Abdul Hassan Sweidan, and said he was directly targeted while he was inspecting his property in Yater in Bint Jbeil district. They also condemned the attack, calling it a "flagrant violation" of existing understandings and international law.
