Punjab govt issues ban on use and sale of camera-enabled smart glasses, devices with hidden recording ability

The Punjab government issued an order on Tuesday banning the use and sale of camera-enabled smart glasses and “miniature cameras disguised as everyday objects” within the province. The restrictions were issued with immediate effect by the secretary of the Punjab Home Department, in exercise of powers conferred under section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898.
